What happens when cultures connect in ways we don’t expect?
On October 20, Creative Class Collective invites you to an intimate new edition of Unexpected Connections, our ongoing initiative exploring how culture moves, mixes, and reshapes itself in unexpected ways. This edition draws on Intertrend Communications' Culture as Capital research on the growing influence of AAPI culture in the U.S.
While many expected Asian culture to rank high on cultural influence in general, one finding stopped us in our tracks: some respondents outside Asian communities expressed an even stronger affinity for Asian culture than Asian respondents themselves. It made us wonder how culture really travels. How does something rooted in one community find meaning in another? And what happens when influence becomes something shared, reinterpreted and made new?
