Five $5,000 Renewable Scholarships Available for High School Seniors
Planning to Attend College as a Full-Time, Degree-Seeking Student in the Fall of 2024
The Robin-Hwajin Yoon Kim Foundation, which supports education, the underprivileged, and positive social impact initiatives has established the “Kao Kalia Yang Scholarship” to help economically-challenged Hmong American youth fulfill their dreams of obtaining higher education.

 

ELIGIBILITY:

  • Blood descendants of Hmong race or ethnically identified as Hmong American (with citizenship or as a permanent resident)

  • High school seniors who reside in the United States

  • Plan to attend a U.S. Accredited 4-Year College/University or Community College as a 1st year student in Fall 2024 (if selected, must submit college acceptance letter for verification)

  • A minimum cumulative unweighted high school GPA of 2.8

  • A household income at or below the Federal/State/County Low Income Level (must be able to show 2022 or 2023 tax return should applicant be selected for award)

  • Open to ALL MAJORS

Applicants only have to fill out the common application once to apply to all scholarship programs they are eligible for

The scholarship awards will only be used to cover the cost of tuition for attending a college/university, as defined by the institution attended.

All materials must be RECEIVED by 11:59pm PDT, Monday, April 15, 2024. Anything received (whether mailed, emailed, or faxed) past that date and time will not be considered, regardless of the postmark. Application and recommender forms MUST be submitted online – Hard copies will NOT be accepted.
