“When I was in Hong Kong, I was a clerical worker, not making enough money because of lacking skills and proper training… I had the opportunity to immigrate to the United States, and I just took it,” said Wong, a new immigrant who came to the Chinatown Worksource Center (CWC) to look for employment services. Like many immigrants, Wong felt that he was trapped at the bottom and would have to overcome many barriers to move up in the American society.
