Programs
The Asian Pacific Community Fund is the only completely independent, community-based fund that raises and distributes funds on behalf of Asian and Pacific Islander nonprofit organizations. We raise funds for our member agencies through the following programs:

Workplace Giving Campaigns
Donor Advised Funds
Giving Circles
Workplace Giving Campaigns

APCF conducts workplace giving campaigns to offer employees the convenience of making charitable contributions through payroll deductions. Through these campaigns, employees who want to support agencies serving disadvantaged Asian Pacific Islander communities may select APCF as the recipient of their payroll deductions. Our donors can be assured that their donations will go directly to fund 29 agencies serving the needs of diverse Asian Pacific Islander clients.

Workplace Giving Employers

City of Los Angeles
Combined Federal Campaign
County of Los Angeles
Department of Water & Power
Kaiser Permanente
Los Angeles Unified School District
Pacific Commerce Bank
State of California

APCF is committed to expanding and strengthening our workplace giving programs. One of our goals is to open new workplace giving campaigns in locally-based businesses, particularly those owned by Asian Americans and Pacific Islanders (APIs). By expanding our access into these businesses, we hope to not only to increase donations, but also to introduce and educate more people - particularly APIs - about the practice of philanthropy and its role in a civil society.

As the only Asian Pacific American community-based fund in Southern California, APCF is well-positioned to make an impact in the fast-growing Asian Pacific business community.

Donor Advised Funds

Asian Pacific Community Fund offers major donors the option of setting up a Donor Advised Fund through which to make charitable contributions directly to our member agencies. A Donor Advised Fund is a fund held by a community foundation or other public charity where the donor, or a committee appointed by the donor, may recommend eligible charitable recipients for grants from the fund.

The advantage of creating a Donor Advised Fund through APCF is that APCF staff can help to educate and guide the funding decisions of donors who may be unfamiliar with the broad and diverse range of nonprofit organizations in the Asian Pacific Islander community. APCF has a long history as a leader in Los Angeles' Asian Pacific Islander community, providing assurance that funds will be channeled to programs that best address the donor's priority giving areas.

Giving Circles

Also referred to as a "social investment club," a Giving Circle is a pooled fund, generally hosted or sponsored by a charitable organization through which members make grants together. APCF is launching an Asian Pacific Giving Circle, to be organized around issues impacting the diverse Asian and Pacific Islander communities in Southern California. Giving Circle members engage in strategic decision-making to determine which charitable organizations to support.

Donors can join the Asian Pacific Giving Circle and combine their resources with colleagues, friends, and/or other donors who share a common interest in supporting Asian Pacific Islander communities. Together, the Asian Pacific Giving Circle donors gain an in-depth understanding of the Asian Pacific Islander community and can focus on ways to make an impact, make joint social investment decisions, and leverage monetary contributions with volunteerism and expertise to the nonprofits supported.
