The Asian Pacific Community Fund offers a group of donors to set up a Giving Circle, which is a donor advised fund involving numerous donors/members. Click here to learn more about donor advised funds.

Giving Circle members organize around issues impacting the diverse Asian and Pacific Islander communities in Southern California and engage in strategic decision-making to determine which charitable organizations to support. Donors can join the Giving Circle and combine their resources with colleagues, friends, and/or other donors who share a common interest in supporting Asian Pacific Islander communities. Together, the Giving Circle donors gain an in-depth understanding of the Asian Pacific Islander community and can focus on ways to make an impact, make joint social investment decisions, and leverage monetary contributions with volunteerism and expertise to the nonprofits supported.

APCF administers the Giving Circle, which includes member agreements, member donations, the grant process, facilitating meetings, etc, so that Giving Circle members can be free of the administrative tasks involved and focus on making grant awards that best address the members’ giving priorities.

In 2008, APCF launched its first Giving Circle,which combined the contributions of over 30 board members and friends in order to offer a $5000 grant award in the area of Asian Pacific Islander political leadership. Because these members pooled their donations, they were able to make a substantial grant award to help fund the Japanese American Citizens League – PSW’s Mobilize for Policy Program. Individually, each of their donations would not have been able to significantly impact any given program and/or agency.
