2nd Annual 2010 Emerging Leaders in Philanthropy Recognition Awards!


The Asian Pacific Community Fund (APCF) in partnership with Asian Americans/ Pacific Islanders in Philanthropy (AAPIP) is seeking nominations for young individuals and organizations that have exemplified outstanding support for the Asian Pacific Islander community through their leadership and philanthropic efforts.

Emerging Leaders in Philanthropy Recognition Awards


Two individuals and two organizations will receive awards
. All nominees will be recognized. The awards will be presented at the 2nd Annual Emerging Leaders in Philanthropy Recognition Awards to be held in early March. Completed nomination packages must be received by 5:00 P.M., Monday, January 25, 2010. Awards

Individual Awards

  • Distinguished Leader in Philanthropy (Ages 18-23)
  • Distinguished Leader in Philanthropy (Ages 24-30)

Leaders hold a vital position in motivating and inspiring others in the community. This award is given to an individual who has stood out as a strong and effective leader within an organization and whose volunteer philanthropic activities have helped to further the Asian Pacific Islander community. Philanthropic activities may include raising funds for community causes/programs, contributing one’s own resources to help those in need and leading others to participate in such activities.
*One individual will be awarded per age category.


Organizational Awards

  • Community Excellence Award (Collegiate)
  • Community Excellence Award (Post-Grad/Professional)

Student and professional organizations provide a major avenue in getting people involved, informed and linked to a network of social support. This award is given to an organization that has displayed a continuous history of philanthropy and leadership to further the Asian Pacific Islander community.
*One organization will be awarded per category.

Instructions for Completing Nomination Package

1.    Nominator Form

All are invited to nominate individuals or organizations with outstanding leadership in philanthropy.  Nominators must be sufficiently familiar with the Nominee’s leadership potential and work ethic.

Note: Relatives may not serve as Nominators.

Nominators may notify nominee of nomination and request for Nominee Form to be completed. Regardless, once APCF receives the Nominator Form, APCF will notify nominee of nomination and request for completion of the Nominee Form.

Nominators should turn in Nominator Form as soon as possible to allow sufficient time for nominee to complete Nominee Form.

2.    Nominee Form

The Nominee is responsible for completing and sending the Nominee Form. It is important that all information and answers are accurate.  A Nominee may be disqualified if the information provided is incorrect.

3.    Recommender Form (optional)

A Recommender can be any adult who is familiar with the Nominee’s philanthropic efforts and leadership activities, such as a supervisor at work, a community leader, etc. All Recommenders must act within their personal capacity.

Note: Relatives may not serve as Recommenders.

Only completed Nomination packages (Nominee Form and Nominator Form) submitted by the deadline will be considered for recognition. The Recommender Form is optional.
