History
The Asian Pacific Community Fund was founded in 1990 to raise and distribute funds to support Asian Pacific Islander organizations in the Greater Los Angeles area.

Planning for APCF began in 1985, as an alternative workplace giving campaign to United Way. At the time, United Way only funded six Asian Pacific service organizations and only two percent of foundation funding was distributed to Asian Pacific Islander American social and health service providers.

A grant from the California Community Foundation enabled us to hire our first staff person. Using primarily workplace giving campaigns in the public sector, the Asian Pacific Community Fund has grown steadily in the number of campaigns in which it participates, the number of dollars raised and the number of dollars distributed to Asian Pacific Islander organizations.

Currently, APCF participates in workplace giving campaigns across Los Angeles and Orange Counties. The APCF agencies provide services to diverse Asian and Pacific Islander populations.
